Writing the Treatment 18.02.15

So in order for our treatment to be efficiently done, we decided as a team to divide different parts of the treatment. I volunteered to talk about the subject of the film which will mostly be about motivation, support and building self-esteem.

This is what I have came up with:

Subject:As it was stated from our synopsis, our short film will revolve around a young persistent man’s journey in perceiving his upmost goals in his life. Thus, the genre of our film will be sports-drama as the story will be involving the ups and downs of a young rugby player. The main aim of our short film is to inspire our main target audience which are young adults to stay determined to be ahead of their objectives.
Furthermore, the main subject of the film will be about motivation, support and building self-esteem. As the plot of the story will involve in his struggle and perseverance, motivation is one of the key things in order to pursue a goal and this is very important in the field of sports. This is because, without the determination and desire to improving performances, other mental factors such as focus, intensity and confidence would just be meaningless. Therefore, in order for our main character become the best athlete, he needs to be motivated to do what it takes to maximise his ability and this is what we aim our audience to learn from our film.
Another main subject in our film is support; the support that the main character gets from his girlfriend is one of the significant things which makes him inspired to be the best. His girlfriend’s support is very important to him he have never got a recognition with his little achievements from his past.
However there would be a point in which the support he gets starts fading away and this simply ruins his self-esteem and to which it starts having an effect into his motivation. So, we are targeting to tell the audience that building the self-support and self-esteem can bring yourself up and this will enable to bring yourself into your aims because at the end of the day you will just be doing this for yourself.

  1. Good story development but what research did you do to help with this process?
